Pinot at Cloudy Bay 2014
September 6th, 10am - 6pm
Now in it’s 15th year, Pinot at Cloudy Bay is a sophisticated and rare experience in the world of Pinot Noir. Hosted at Cloudy Bay’s Estate Vineyard, trade representatives, wine media and Pinot lovers gather to taste and compare 18 of the most exquisite examples of the style from around the world. The Grand Tasting is followed by a sumptuous degustation lunch, prepared by an acclaimed New Zealand chef. Served in the Barrel Room at Cloudy Bay, the meal completes a day of exploration and pleasure.

Food and Wine Classic Hawke’s Bay

Hawke’s Bay is host to not one but two major wine festivals each year. Called the Food and Wine Classic (FAWC), this multi-day event is held during June and again in November. There is lots of entertainment (even a fashion show), but what everyone comes for is to try the cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah wines for which the region is renowned.

This festival offers much more than just delicious, creamy chocolate – although this alone would be enough to tempt most. The Jaffa Race, where 25,000 Cadbury Jaffas bounce down the steepest street in the world, is a highlight.

Wellington on a Plate

Gisborne Wine and Food Festival
Although Gisborne is probably the most remote of New Zealand's wine regions, it's festival is well worth visiting. Tickets sell out quickly and it's a great day of sampling the region's great chardonnays and gewurztraminer. It is normally held over a holiday weekend in late October. Being springtime, the vines provide a spectacular backdrop.
Toast Martinborough (Wairarapa)
The sleepy village of Martinborough, just an hour north of Wellington, comes alive in late November when the dozen or so wineries get together to show off their wines. This is pinot noir country; many regard Martinborough as making the finest pinot noir wines in the country.
